Hi Friends! It's me, Gerald the Giraffe. Check me out in the upper right hand of this picture with my cool heart shades!
You'll find some of my favorite kinds of toys at our Wee Play Station in the Picture Book Area on the 2nd Floor at my library, the Cambrian Library.
Sensory toys help me to feel better if I am upset.
Here are some toys that I really like in the Wee Play Station at Cambrian Library! Psst, you can find a Wee Play Station at all of the San Jose libraries, I am told!
Calming Down with a Push Pop!
When I read in the Summer Learning Challenge at Cambrian Library, I enjoy spinning the Toy Prize Wheel when I finish the 8 hour or 8 book AND 64 hour or 64 book levels to see if I can win one of those Push Pop key chains!
If I don't win one of those fun Push Pop key chains, I can surely find a push pop fidget toy at the Wee Play Station! WOWIE!
Using my Eyes and Fingers is Soothing
YAWN! Oops, excuse me! There are other toys that calm me down by moving little round balls down a maze, as you can see here.
These are the best!
I love figuring out mazes and these kinds of toys help me to forget about everything. (Sometimes, even my lunch!)
After playing, I always feel much better!
"Feeling Face" Puzzle
Did you know that each of the parts of your face can form different feelings?
Playing with this puzzle helps me to figure out how I am feeling, sometimes. Usually, it doesn't work if I am sleepy!
Each piece of the "Feeling Face" puzzle can be turned around so that I can make different kinds of emotions: happy, sad, and mad. Sometimes, I am not sure how I am feeling, so I can play with this puzzle to figure out how I am feeling. I know that when the mouth lifts up, that is certainly one of my favorite feelings, happiness!
