Family Learning Centers (FLCs) offer free learning opportunities, resources and services for adults and families. The Centers are designed to support:

  • English Language Learners (ELL)
  • Immigrants
  • Adults with Intellectual and Learning Disabilities
  • Older Adults/Seniors
  • Members of underserved and underrepresented communities

Multilingual programs include education, technology and skills-building opportunities.

Computer Classes for Beginners

Do you want to learn computer basics and online searching? We have an 8-hour Digital Literacy series for you. Available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

FLC Collections

Collections of books, videos, DVDs, and multimedia kits covering a variety of subjects. Can be requested in the catalog for Express Pickup during the pandemic closures.

Get resources that help with citizenship and immigration.

Attend Events

Community Connection Hour

FLC Coordinators are available to listen to your needs. Get information and connect to partner resources. Staff is available to assist in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

ELL Conversation Clubs

These clubs offer a friendly, respectful and fun environment for adult learners who want to practice and grow more confident in English conversation skills. Meetings are led by a trained facilitator.

ELL Grammar Club

Grammar clubs provide an opportunity to learn about and practice basic grammar skills needed to read and write in English.

Overfelt Adult Education ESL Class

Our partner, East Side Adult Education, offers English language classes each semester taught by experienced instructors.

Tiempo Para Mí / Time for Me

Peer support group for Spanish-speaking women.

Virtual Networking and Job Interview Practice

Learn how to answer common interview questions and practice networking to increase your skills. (In partnership with SJPL Works)
