About Family Learning Centers

Family Learning Centers (FLC) provide free programs and services to families and individuals to improve literacy and life skills at seven San José Public Library branches.


Free Events, including:

  • Parenting classes and workshops
  • ESL and citizenship classes
  • ESL conversation clubs
  • Computer instruction in various languages
  • Informational programs in various languages
  • Cultural programs in various languages

Collections of books, videos, DVDs, and multimedia kits that cover a variety of subjects, including:

  • ESL
  • Citizenship
  • GED
  • Basic Life Skills
  • Grammar/Writing and Literacy Development

Please Note: During closure, materials in the Family Learning Centers CAN be requested through the Library Catalog and checked out.
