"This library offers an amazing experience every time! I requested some novels from their fiction section, and not only were they available, but they also offered a quick turnaround for holds. The quality of their collections is impressive, with new releases as well as classic literature. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The library offers great value by being accessible, free, and providing a space that encourages learning and community engagement."

"Every day after school I hung out in the library until my mom got off work. I have so many memories of browsing the stacks with my friends, doing crafts with my little sister, and checking out stacks of American Girl and Nancy Drew books. I am now a children’s librarian and I know it is partly due to my time spent in Rose Garden. Thank you to the wonderful librarians and volunteers for fanning the spark of my love for books and reading!"

A lot of my childhood was spent the old Noble library. This was an opportunity to explore whatever new topic piqued my curiosity. Between the bookshelves, I developed a love of reading and of learning. The library became an afterschool sanctuary. I remember finishing term papers at the top floor of the MLK library, studying for the MCAT in the Berryessa quiet rooms, and finally preparing for my final medical board exams at the Santa Teresa Branch— which I passed! The library will always hold a soft spot in my heart, as it undoubtedly helped get me to where I am today. I still occasionally visit my local library (Santa Teresa) during my lunch break at the clinic and I donate to SJPL on a regular basis because of how grateful I am. Information and knowledge, especially now in these challenging times, is so, so important. And places like the public library are a vital (and free!) source.
