Program Choices

• STEAM Learning Labs:         
  • Duration: 1–2 hours per lab
  • Focus: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM)
• Coding Learning Labs:         
  • Duration: One full day (8 hours) per lab
  • Focus: Coding and STEAM activities

STEAM Learning Labs 

Discover the exciting world of STEAM with our hands-on, interactive learning labs! Perfect for curious minds, these 1–2-hour sessions let kids explore exciting topics in science, technology, engineering, art, and math through fun projects and activities.

• When & Where: Various times and locations from June 15 to August 2, 2024.
• Topics: Includes a wide range of STEAM subjects including augmented reality, green screen technology, and coding.
• Hands-On Projects: You will use computers, iPads, robots, or other devices to complete innovative projects.
• Weekly Themes: There will be a different theme each week. Here are a few examples:         
  • What’s in Your Community?: Explore how science and technology shapes your local environment.
  • Out of This World: Blast off with space-themed projects that spark imagination and curiosity about the universe.
  • Challenge for Change: Try problem-solving activities focused on real-world challenges that can make a positive impact.

Coding Learning Labs 

Get a full day of coding and STEAM activities! Four locations will host these labs on select weekdays: June 24 – August 2, 2024. Each one-day session includes a variety of activities using computers, iPads, robots, or other devices for hands-on learning.  

• When and Where: Select weekdays at four different locations:           
  • 3rd–5th Grade: Hillview and Tully  
  • 6th–8th Grade: Educational Park and Joyce Ellington
• Registration Required: Please register on the event listing.  
• Special Programs: Select programs are part of the Girls Who Code initiative, prioritizing enrollment for students who identify as girls. See individual event listings for more details.  
• Hands-On Projects: Learn the basics of coding, digital art, and design through a variety of projects and activities throughout the day.  
• Guest Presenters: The Tech Interactive will have a presenter at many sessions to lead an activity!
