    If you bought health insurance last year or early in 2014 through the Affordable Care Act and are thinking about making a change OR if you need to buy health insurance for the first time, you can do that now. The enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act, sometimes called ObamaCare, is open until February 15, 2015. In California, the agency that manages health insurance is called Covered California.   • What To Do with Used Magazines, Encyclopedias, and Textbooks

    If you have a generous heart and some new or very gently used books, videos, or CDs that you don’t need, you should donate them to your local branch’s Friends of the Library, who gratefully accept these items at donation bins in all library locations.

  • Obituary Searchingfolder magnifying glass

    The library often receives requests from people who would like to obtain a copy of an obituary for a loved one who passed away locally. These requests come from all over the world! For over 150 years, obituaries have appeared in the San Jose Mercury News. Some requests are for those doing genealogical research, and know that many obituaries contain detailed information about long lost family members that can be hard to find elsewhere.
