Six More Weeks of Winter?

Okay campers, rise and shine! Every February 2, Phil the groundhog emerges from his burrow at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to tell the world whether he sees his shadow or not. If he does, we'll have another six weeks of cold winter weather! Phil usually sees his shadow, but what does the fuzzy forecaster say this year? Go to The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's website to learn Phil's prediction.

Read all about the history of Groundhog Day and where the legend of the groundhog and his shadow came from. Also, check out these fun books for kids about this offbeat holiday, or maybe the classic Bill Murray comedy named after it, available through SJPL.
