Become an Adult Literacy & ESL Learner

Improve your basic reading, writing, speaking and technology skills as a learner in the Adult Literacy & ESL program. We offer FREE one-on-one literacy tutoring, ESL tutoring, small group instruction, computer instruction, classes, workshops, family programs and more!

Learner Requirements

• To qualify and enroll in the ESL tutoring program, students must be beginner-level ESL learners with little to no English-speaking skills.
• To qualify and enroll in the Adult Literacy tutoring program, students must read at or below the 8th-grade level.
• Be 18 or older and not be in high school.
• Live or work in San José.
• Attend an orientation and complete the assessment.
