Educator of the Year

The San José Public Library (SJPL) is proud to honor outstanding educators who make a difference in our community.

As the City's department leading the City of San José’s Education Initiative, opens a new window, we deeply value the dedication and impact of teachers and educators. Their commitment to excellence in education helps students discover new possibilities and inspires a lifelong love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

We are currently accepting nominations for the 2025-2026 school year. The San José Educator of the Year Award recognizes TK–12 teachers who have made a meaningful difference in the lives of their students. We invite students, families, colleagues, and community members to submit nominations and help us celebrate the educators who inspire and support young people across San José.

Each award recipient will be recognized with an official commendation from the San José City Council, celebrating their outstanding contributions to education. Honorees will also receive a $500 award made possible through the generous support of the San José Public Library Foundation.

We thank you for being the cornerstone of our community's future.
