Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Launches in Santa Clara County

Receive free books delivered to your home each month for children from birth through age 5

Families in Santa Clara County can now sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a free program that delivers monthly books to children from birth through age 5.

Through a partnership with the Santa Clara County Library District, the program officially launches Oct. 1. Enrolled families will receive a new, age-appropriate book in the mail each month until the child’s fifth birthday—at no cost.

Founded in 1995 by singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton, the Imagination Library has grown from a local program in Tennessee to a worldwide movement. To date, it has mailed more than 200 million books to children and inspired generations to discover the joy of reading.
