Winter is slowly creeping up on us – and it’s bringing all of its best friends: shorter days, longer nights, chilly temperatures, and a hoard of holidays! Maybe you’re at a loss for what activities to do while the weather outside is cold and natural daylight is in short supply. We know that planning for the winter holidays can be stressful, so we wanted to help you out a bit with the start of the SJPL Winter Reading program – beginning today and running through January 4th!

Reading as part of this annual challenge is a great way to spend the cold, chilly days indoors (we recommend curling up in a cozy corner with a pile of blankets and a mug of your favorite warm beverage). Not only can you keep yourself entertained, you can also claim fun giveaways for participating, as well as give yourself a chance to win some cool grand prizes by reaching the challenge goal of logging at least four (4) books or four (4) hours worth of reading!

Reading List

If you need some literary ideas to get you through this Winter Reading season, SJPL is ready to help you out with that too! Want to rev yourself up via a winter classic with a fresh look? Check out these re-imagined versions of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol!
