Volunteer Jonathan Makes Things Shine!

Ability Path volunteer Jonathan is a Library Services volunteer at Cambrian Library.

Working with his caregiver Chris and job coach Courtney, Jonathan does a wonderful job cleaning furniture all over the Library.

Ability Path

Ability Path volunteers like Jonathan work in a team of parents, caregivers, and job coaches.

Organizations like Ability Path provide a meaningful path towards independence for adults with disabilities.

According to their website:

"AbilityPath is committed to ensuring opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Our services build on an individual’s interests and abilities to help them increase independence through hands-on
training, education, and community-based programs."

After having worked with several Ability Path job coaches, I can say that each job coach is highly attuned to the needs of their student.

Ability Path is one of many organizations that provide work experiences for people with disabilities.

Comments on Jonathan's Service to the Library

We are very lucky at Cambrian Library to have such a reliable and hard-working volunteer like Jonathan.  When he works, he is always thinking about trying to make the Library look nice for its many users.  He is mindfully thinking about improving the experience for library users whose impression of library service points directly impact their decision on whether to return to the Library or not.

A dedicated volunteer, Jonathan comes in every week to help the Library.  Staff and customers have commented,

"You can tell when Jonathan comes in to work!"

"He does a great job."

"The Library shines!"

Jonathan is used to hard work.  He is a Special Olympics participant.  He recently won another gold medal in swimming!  Congratulations, Jonathan!  You inspire everyone to try their very best!
