Sending You into Space-Selections from Our Fiction Shelves!

Finishing out my Aviation and Flight series this month: we take a moment to nerd-quote "Space. The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.". (Quote from the opening of "Star Trek")

The science fiction genre has long been one that holds some of the most interesting thematic elements: new worlds, alien life forms, time travel, amazing advances in science and engineering. And we have some wonderful selections on our shelves at San Jose Public Library (some of which have even become TV shows and movies). Check out some books, let your mind take flight, and boldly go forth!
