Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), known in California as CalFresh, is a federally funded program that provides food assistance to approximately 130,000 residents in Santa Clara County. From October 1, 2025, through November 12, 2025 the United States federal government shutdown, which caused a disruption of SNAP funds amongst several other federal government functions and services.
What does this mean for CalFresh?
