LocalLit: Call for Local Authors

Red, blue, and yellow books flying like birds. Text: LocalLit Annual Author Fair.Calling Local Authors!

Have you recently published a book and want to share it with your community? San José Public Library (SJPL) and San José State University (SJSU) King Library invite you to take part in LocalLit, our annual celebration of local literary talent!

What is LocalLit?

LocalLit is a free, annual event that shines a spotlight on San José’s vibrant community of authors. It’s your chance to connect with readers, fellow writers, and book lovers while sharing your creative journey.

Hosted in partnership by SJPL and the SJSU King Library, this event features engaging panel discussions where authors talk about writing, publishing, and the stories behind their books. Attendees can ask questions, meet the authors, enjoy light refreshments—and even purchase signed copies of your work. See past participating authors on our website and in our catalog

Our 13th LocalLit event will take place on Saturday January 24th, 2026 from 2:00-4:30 p.m.
