Community Engagement at Cambrian Library

Cambrian Library has a very involved community who love our many animal events.  Librarian Thu often says, "The people here love our animal programs.  Animal programs like the Little Explorer's Petting Zoo, Happy Birds, or For Goodness Snakes are very popular!"

In 2025, Cambrian Community members will have an opportunity to express themselves at various large events:  ASK 4 in the first quarter; Music in the Valley, For Goodness Snakes, and Happy Birds.

The Cambrian Community is a very generous Community.  The Cambrian Library's Friends of the Library is very active and we have many people applying for various volunteer opportunities at the Library.

Volunteers at Cambrian Library

Cambrian Library's Volunteer Program is filled with active and vital volunteers who provide many programs and services.  Many people in the Cambrian Community have an innate need to "give back to their Community."

Here are some of the many programs that are fueled by volunteerism at the Cambrian Library:

  • A Reading to Children program is run by volunteers on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
  • A Tech Mentor is here to lead a class about computers once a month on a Saturday and another Tech Mentor is here to help with your computer questions every 3rd Saturday of the month from 10-12!
  • A One-on-One Reading Tutor patiently works with children who want to practice their reading skills on Thursdays at 3:30-5:30pm.
  • TeensReach members or young adults lead the You Can Code/Create programs, Artificial Intelligence, Summer Learning Challenge, Reading Buddies, Math Festivals, Lego Club, and STEM programs.   In addition, young adults help out at Friends of the Library Book Sales and other large scale events.
  • Neighboring schools such as Leigh High School and Branham High School have provided interactive Robotics shows to kids.  Bellarmine Prep also demonstrated their robots at a Silicon Valley Reads event.
  • Cambrian Library's Friday Fun program is unique in that our volunteer leads a meditation before and after the activities in order to relax children after a busy school week.
  • Adult volunteers facilitate Cambrian Library's Pokemon Club, Bridge Club, and Crochet Club.  The Pokemon Club has been run by dedicated volunteer Brian since before the Pandemic!
  • Adult volunteers assist us with our Sunday Lego Club and last Sunday Fandom Swap.
