San Jose Public Library is offering a new service to library cardholders.   Discover & Go offers free or reduced price tickets to Bay Area museums for Bay Area library cardholders!

What does this mean to you?  Always wanted to go to the San Jose Museum of Art but couldn't afford the ticket?  Log in and while passes are available you can download them FOR FREE !  There are a limited number of passes available on a first come, first served basis.  Every month more passes become available. Watch the tutorial

Some museums will allow you to use your smart phone to display your downloaded pass, but all will accept a printed pass that you download.

Check it out!

Well Mehta, the link above

Well Mehta, the link above was not helpful. It just takes you to this page that we are on. I went to the first paragraph above and clicked on LOG IN. It took me to a page that lists the museums and the details of their offering. It is still a little confusing. Show your "discover and go" pass. I assume that means the ticket one prints.

Service

This new service to the library cardholders is appreciating for the regular book readers but I think it would be better if they could get a chance to visit a better museum. :P

Discover & Go

I'm a fairly savy Web user but I can't figure our how to find dates and venues for the Discover & Go program. All I can find is the slide presentation which uses a date in May 2012 as an example. How do you find the active page to choose and order other dates and venues?

The link you clicked was not having the correct URL. Please try copy paste or clicking this link http://tickets.sjpl.org/

Choosing the day for your tickets

After you log into the Discover and Go page there will be a calendar on the left side of the page. Click on the date that you want (for the current month) or click on the ">" symbol to move the calendar to a specific month. Do check the restrictions/ticket policy for the location. Enjoy. Page is not intuitive

As you change month, and click on a date, the number of museums displayed changes. According to availability.

Museum of Art

I always wanted to go to the San Jose Museum of Art but couldn't afford the ticket. You really are a life saver. You have fixed my issue permanently. Some museums will allow you to use your smart phone to display your downloaded pass.
