- California Room Index - The California Room index will return items such as maps, ephemera, newspaper clippings, and listings of names and subjects found in historical books. This index is available at the front desk and public computers in the California Room.
Access to Articles from 1884 Onward (Online):
- Evening News (1884-1983): Full-page scans of the evening edition, originally published under various names.
- San José Mercury News (1900-1985): Full-page scans, including articles, obituaries, classifieds, and other advertising.
- The Mercury News (1985-present): Full-text articles and death notices, excluding images, classifieds, and other ads.
