tea and poetry books laid out on a table
The month of April is known as National Poetry Month. To be honest I haven't read a lot of poetry books, or books written in short verse. It was just recently that I discovered a book called The Sky Between You and Me by Catherine Alene. This book was written in short poetry like verses, and I was completely enamored with the writing style from the very first pages. Books written in short verse are amazingly in depth and very quick to read, but what you won't understand until you read one for yourself, is just how talented an author...Read more...

colorful hands raised in unison
I recently read a book named When Dimple Met RIshi by Sandhya Menon, in this book an Indian girl named Dimple has been arranged to marry a family friend named Rishi. Dimple is 100% against this arranged marriage. She just wants to be a normal American girl studying and moving away to college, but her parents only see college as an opportunity to find "the perfect Indian husband." Reading this book I completely fell in LOVE with the cultural diversity through out the novel, and the main character Dimple was just so relatable! Anyway this book really got me thinking,...Read more...

This month was just a mad dash to finish my Goodreads challenge of 60 books read in 2018. Although I didn't get to read everything from my TBR lists that I would have liked, I still managed to squeeze in a few good books from them. Hopefully I'll get to read whats left of them in 2019. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Comment down below what your books you plan on reading in 2019. ugly chrismas sweater on a light green back ground
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... but most importantly I'm dreaming of the perfect Christmas read. I can't think of anything better to do this holiday season than curling up in the UGLIEST Christmas sweater and reading a book. I'll have Christmas music softly playing in the background and my Christmas tree all lit up. I'll brew up a batch of homemade peppermint mocha and sip it while reading a book. If you think that sounds like a perfect holiday, then we've got you covered with the perfect Holiday reads. Christmas Recommendations What Light by Jay Asher Sierra's family runs...Read more...
