October is finally here and it's time to celebrate the Spooky Season once again! (although some of us can be counted on the celebrate throughout the rest of the year too!) One of the most enigmatic characters to exist within books and movies is that of the witch. The history and folklore surrounding witches and witchcraft has existed since the ancient times. In modern stories, the character of the Witch can inspire fear, mystery, and even admiration in their abilities and skills. They are able to be heroic or villainous in their very nature, and that is what makes them such compelling characters.
Here at San Jose Public Library, we have a vast collection of contemporary novels with main character witches. Read along, if you dare!
