Anyone who knows me well knows that I love the Ocean and the Seashore. I've spent a majority of my life living in close access the waters of the Great Lakes, the Puget Sound, and now, the Pacific Ocean. The idea of being landlocked bothers me on an intrinsic, primal level to the point where I must live within close driving proximity to large rivers, lakes, or oceans. Something within that liminal space of earth, sky, and sea calls to me.
Because of this, I've always been fascinated with marine life, the deep ocean, the coral reefs, and the detritus that washes up onto the shore. At one point in time, I thought I might study Marine Biology but my life's journey took me in other directions. One of these journeys led me to working here at San Jose Public Library, where we have a vast collection of information regarding any and all subject matter.
