Learn and Improve English

ESL classes help adults from other countries learn English. ESL students build conversation skills so they can shop, go to the doctor, go to the bank, and communicate throughout their respective communities more easily. Some people take ESL classes to improve their English levels enough to be matched with a Partners in Reading (PAR) tutor.

ESL Classes

PAR offers free ESL classes for beginning and intermediate levels in the fall and spring semesters at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library and at various branches. PAR also offers an Advanced Communications class in the fall and spring at the King Library for non-native English speakers who want to advance their English-speaking skills. Enrollment for ESL classes begins in January and August. Call PAR today at 1-408-808-2361 if you need more information about ESL classes.
