About Transgender Day of Visibility

International Transgender Day of Visibility is celebrated annually on March 31. It is a day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of transgender individuals and gender-expansive people. The history of this important day dates to 2010 when Rachel Crandall, a transgender activist from Michigan, founded it to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the transgender community.

Since its inception, Trans Day of Visibility has grown in significance and popularity, with events and activities held around the world to promote visibility and acceptance for transgender people. It serves as a reminder that transgender individuals deserve respect, dignity, and equal rights in all societies.

The day also highlights the resilience and strength of the transgender community in overcoming discrimination and prejudice.
