It's been SIX years since the first YA Friday post. Since then, there have been over 300 uninterrupted weeks of YA recommendations, 70 monthly wrap-ups, over 3,750 recommended books, and over 30,000 page views!
In honor of YA Friday's sixth birthday, I highlighted some of my favorite blog posts from this past year.

2023 was undoubtedly Taylor Swift's year, and we are Swifties here at YA Friday, so in celebration of her Eras Tour visiting the San José area, we matched books to all of her music Eras, as well as books to songs in all of her rerecorded Taylor's Version albums released.

Discussing YA books with others is one of my favorite things to do as a librarian. In this mock committee, we get to learn awesome skills while having fun with our coworkers and vote on some of our favorite YA books published over the past year.

While YA vampire fiction immerses us in worlds of immortal beings that thirst for blood, there's a real-world need that aligns surprisingly well—blood donation. Highlighting captivating YA vampire fiction was a perfect chance to also recognize the significance of blood transfusions in saving lives in celebration of National Blood Donor Month.
