San Josè Public Library’s TeenHQ is excited to announce our partnership with WeThrive. WeThrive is a non-profit, entrepreneurial apprenticeship program specifically for youth that focuses on under-resourced communities to help start their own ventures, earn real revenues, and gain mentorship.
SJPL’s TeenHQ will be partnering with WeThrive to bring their platform, as a hybrid summer camp to San Josè incoming high school freshmen through seniors Summer of 2023. This intensive 8-week hybrid camp will include:
-
self-guided homework lessons
-
group guides that expand lessons
-
virtual and in-person meetings
-
leadership opportunities
-
virtual mentorship with actual business owners
-
a demo and pop-up market day for youth to sell their products
Participants in the program will group together to learn about entrepreneurship, how to turn their vision and passions into a business model, learn about the social impact of business and how it applies to their own, identify opportunities, and apply problem solving to a business. They will also learn about products and services, how to identify target audiences, product and services differentiation, logo creation, costs and suppliers, marketing and outreach, channels of distribution, and how to pitch their business.

Halfway through the program, each business group will create a purchase supply list totaling $50 and the supplies will be purchased on their behalf. The business group will then create their product or service that will be demoed and sold during our Demo and Pop-Up Market Day at the end of the camp.
To learn more about this program and how to register, please register for and attend an Information Session (English & en Español). Two sessions will be available with a Spanish translation. Once you’ve attended an Information Session, you will be able to register for the Summer 2023 WeThrive High School Entrepreneur Summer Camp.
