Remembering Ellen Hill

Ellen Hill was a dedicated volunteer at Partners In Reading (and other community organizations throughout the City) for over 20 years until her recent passing.

Ellen had retired after being a teacher for 41 years and put her education skills to good use during her time with PAR. Ellen provided one-on-one tutoring to adult learners in San José, organized (and re-organized) the office and bookshelves, and served as a Gift Giver, helping to distribute books to families in PAR programs.

Ellen logged 3,311 total hours with PAR during her tenure, setting an impressive example for community service.

According to Partners in Reading Staff, "Ellen personified kindness, compassion, and empathy."
