6 New Library Cards

Streaming & Downloading with Your New Card

Starting Saturday, January 7, 2017, you can trade in your old library card for one of our new designs! Here are a few eMedia services and eResources you might want to know once you get it...

If you are already an eMedia user:

Most of our streaming and download services, also known as eMedia, will work exactly as they always have—you don't have to worry about your new card number—just sign in as usual. If you are prompted for your card number, use the new one. Only two eMedia services—Hoopla and Axis 360—will be affected when you get your new card.

Axis 360

At Axis 360, your old library card number and PIN will act as your username and password. Keep using the OLD NUMBER and log in exactly as you have been. If you're unsure about this, or if you would like us to change your username and PIN to the new information, contact us online or call the King Library at 408-808-2100 and ask to be transferred to Stacy. We're very happy to help!

For Hoopla, you will need to go into your account and change the library card number to match the one on the new card. You can do this by following these 5 steps:

  1. Log in as you usually do.
  2. Click on "Settings" in the upper right corner.
  3. Choose the third box along the upper part of the screen—it is labeled "Library Settings".
  4. Remove your old library card number and type in the new one.
  5. Click on "Save".

You will be directed back to the main page. If you are unsure about doing this yourself, you can contact us online or call the King Library at 408-808-2100 and ask to be transferred to Stacy. We'll be happy to do it for you.

If you are new to eMedia:

Once you have your new card, why not put it to good use by exploring some of our eMedia, which is content available for streaming, download, and/or using in a browser. SJPL has so many wonderful eMedia services to choose from, ranging from online encyclopedias to streaming movies! And why choose? Use them all—it's free!
