For Parents of Special Needs Children of All Ages

Parents Helping Parents (PHP) has been serving the community for over 40+ years to support, educate and inspire families to build bright futures for their special needs children (which includes both youth and adults.)

How You Can Use Their Service

What Is Available

  • Assistive Technology (AT) demonstration and training center
  • Communication: PHP staff members speak Spanish, English, and Vietnamese. (With advanced notice, parents can also connect with PHP representatives communicating in American Sign Language, Arabic, French, Hindi and Mandarin)
  • Education Specialists: Assistance in planning and understanding what is needed for a special needs child’s educational success
  • E-learning Library: Helping families, anytime, anywhere with content on the complex educational, legal, social service and medical systems of care
  • Family Specialists: Helping with the transition of your special needs child from childhood to adulthood
  • Lectures
  • Library Resources
  • Sib Sibshops: Support and Activities for Siblings of Children with Special Needs
  • Support: Helping you to become an informed and powerful advocate for your child

Ways to Get Involved - Volunteer

Whether you are interested in a one-time opportunity or a long-term volunteer commitment, PHP can use your help:

  • Support Parents: PHP is always in need of experienced parents knowledgeable about education and care for a child with special needs. Support Parents provide one-on-one support to other parents having similar special needs, ages, geographic location, and more.
  • Help with PHP annual gala
  • Marketing and development
  • Office and tech support
  • One-time help at workshops and trainings.
  • Champions for families with children with special needs
