SJPL Service Day - Beautify Your Branch

Looking for a Fun Way to Have the Whole Family Volunteer?

You're invited to participate in San José Public Library’s Service Day. By volunteering on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at any of our 24 locations, people will have the opportunity to reduce, or even eliminate, their library fines at a rate of $20 per hour, while helping to beautify their branch library. Participants are invited to help clean books, dust shelves, and organize library materials.

Where Can I Register?

To register, please call one of the 24 locations where you wish to volunteer.

What Time Can I Volunteer?

Choose from the following time slots:

  • Shift 1: 2:00 – 3:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 3:00 – 4:00 PM

People can choose to stay for a single hour or both depending on their fine or willingness to volunteer.

Details and Requirements

  • Registration is required. Call to register.
  • Must be able to commit to the full session.
  • Anyone under the age of 15 must volunteer alongside a parent/guardian.

There are so many other ways you can volunteer and make a difference at your library, year-round. For a list of opportunities and more information, visit our Volunteer page.
