The Almaden Branch Library is pleased to host a "Holiday Concert" Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  

Celebrate the holiday season with the acclaimed South Bay Guitar Society Duo (Ben Zussman and Jerry Snyder). Many holiday selections and a sing-along will be presented to bring in this joyous season. This event will be held in the Almaden Library's program room.

Hark, what is that beautiful music you're hearing? Well, we're bringing in live music this month at West Valley Branch Library to celebrate the holiday season! If you missed Elizabeth Erickson's lovely harp performance last week, there are still two more great opportunities to join us for some live seasonal music.

Stop by on Saturday, December 10 at 2pm for a performance by the De Anza Circle recorder ensemble. They've prepared some delightful holiday music from around the world. Bring the family! Maybe it will inspire you or your little ones to pick up a recorder of your own to play. We've got books & DVDs to help you learn.

Join us the following week on Saturday, December 17 at 4pm for a Holiday Concert with the South Bay Guitar Society Quartet, made possible by generous support from the Friends of the West Valley Library. These accomplished guitarists will be playing a medley of traditional, classical, and popular holiday selections for all to enjoy. Thinking about adding a guitar now to that holiday wishlist? If you love classical guitar music as I do, come to this free performance at the Tully Community Branch Library!  From the South Bay Guitar Society, Gil Carnal and Arina Burceva, classical guitarists, will dazzle you with their instruments and music talents.  The performance will take place at Tully Library this Saturday, May 7 at 2PM.  Don't miss out on this wonderful music experience! 

Steve Lin from the South Bay Guitar Society will perform at the Edenvale Branch Library on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 PM.

Steve will perform a program of original and arranged music from Argentina, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Paraguay.  His recent trips to Asia have inspired him to get in touch with his Taiwanese roots and have sparked his love of Filipino song arrangements.

Steve is the guitar area coordinator at San Jose State University, and an adjudicator for the 2011 Guitar Solo & Ensemble Festival at Evergreen Valley High School.

On the weekend of Feb 12-14, 2011 the South Bay Guitar Society will host the 2009 Guitar Foundation of America International Competition First Prize winner, FLORIAN LAROUSSE. In addition to his ticketed evening concert, hospital outreach concert, live radio interview, master class and classroom "meet the artist" demonstrations, we wish to offer an admission free one hour pre-concert talk on Sat. Feb 12, 2-3 pm at Berryessa Library. The event will include live performance samples from his evening concert. The Society provides event time volunteers to assure a proper artist introduction, to answer questions, hand out programme booklets and moderate the Q/A segment.
