Enjoy a delightful puppet show based on multi-cultural folk legends, fables and stories on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the Edenvale Branch Library Community Room. Local artist Edgar Zancudo Sanchez will entertain the entire family with his interactive show. This event is made possible by the generosity of the Friends of the Edenvale Branch Library.
Take two parts science, add one part magic, throw in a large dose of audience participation and you've got Xtreme Science Magic, a show offered at a number of San Jose Public Library branches during the month of March. In this video, children at Willow Glen Library delight in the "smoke-ring blaster" at a performance March 10. The educational and entertaining show will be at six additional locations this month including King, Evergreen, Berryessa, West Valley, Vineland, and Santa Teresa libraries. On Thursday March 1, children and their families came to the Edenvale Branch Library to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. One of the Edenvale Branch Library TeensReach members read Ten Apples up on Top, then Councilmember Ash Kalra read Cat in the Hat. After a fun reading of those two books, teens showed children how to make “Thing One” and “Thing Two” hats. Children, teens and families enjoyed delicious cake, apple juice and other delicious refreshments, provided by the Friends of the Edenvale Branch Library.

This show for children and families is sponsored by the Friends of the Edenvale Branch Library, of which Grandpa Joe is a member.
Popular bilingual children's performer Chiquy Boom is back in San Jose with her silly magic show for kids of all ages. Clown around with Chiquy to magic, and music and movement games presented in both English and Spanish. There will be two chances to catch the show on Saturday November 12 - at 2pm at the Pearl Avenue Branch OR at 4pm at the King Library. While you're at the library, be sure to check out some books on Magic Tricks and Clowns to round out your visit.

Older children and their families are invited to create a wave machine with duct tape, wooden skewers and soft candy at this educational activity designed for children ages eight and older.
