Enjoy stories about Goldilocks and the Three Bears, or maybe Dinosaurs!! Children will also make a craft based on the story of Goldilocks, but limited only to their imagination. All supplies will be provided. This program is for children ages 3 and up and their families/caretakers. This program will take place on Thursday January 24, 2013 at 10:30 at Biblioteca Latinoamericana.

Children 3 years old and up are invited to enjoy a reading of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs by Mo Willems. They will then have the opportunity to use their imagination to make their own story artwork. All supplies, while they last, will be provided.
Kids and their families are invited on
Monday, October 29th at 3pm at the Joyce Ellington Library
to come listen to some stories in a bilingual (English & Spanish) atmosphere
and participate in a craft activity decorating sugar skulls to celebrate this Latino tradition!
Craft supplies will be provided.

May 5 @ 3:00PM: STUFF! An Arts and Craft Program for Children: Boys and girls will celebrate the month of May with 2 fun crafts; girls will make a beautiful hair garland and the boys will become kings for the day with their bejeweled crowns! Join us for this free, fun program.
May 12 @ 11:00AM: Puppet Show with Edgar "Zancudo" Sanchez: Let's celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a puppet show based on multi-cultural folk legends, fables and stories. Edgar Zancudo Sanchez, a local artist, will entertain the whole family with an interactive show. Don't miss this fun event.
May 19 @ 3:00PM: Games for Kids: Dream Big! This program is a preview of our Summer Reading Celebration which starts on June 1. Children will enjoy games and puzzles related to this summer's theme: Dream Big, Read! Learn more about our summer reading celebration and have fun too! May 26 @ 3:00PM: ABC to Drawing: Did you know you could draw pictures using the letters of the alphabet and numbers? Our volunteer, Vidhi, will show us how it's done; children will be so proud of their masterpieces. Mother's Day is May 8 and it's almost here! Join us at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library on Saturday, April 23 at 3:00PM when we will be making a gift just for Mom. This craft is part of our monthly STUFF! program where we use recycled materials to make beautiful works of art. Our volunteer Chris and her assistant Mickey will be showing us how to make wonderful jewelry boxes that any mom would love to have. All materials will be supplied and remember that parking is FREE at the 4th Street Garage until 6:00PM on Saturdays.

Well it's a new month which means a new series of Friday Fun activities at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. We have a great line up of activities. On March 4 we're Making a Memory Quilt. There's Going Wild! Kids' Nature Program on March 11 with a visit from the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge; during this program we'll be learning about birds with stories and fun activities. On March 18 it's The Art of Japanese Calligraphy with Hikaru and on March 25 we'll Make a Mural we can go to visit at the Children's Faire that takes place on Saturday April 16 at Discovery Meadow Park. Please join us as Friday Fun is always a great way to start off the weekend! See you there! All of our Friday Fun programs begin at 4:00PM and take place in the Exploration Room.
