Family Learning Centers located at seven San José Public Library branches provide the following free programs and services to families and individuals:
- Parenting classes and workshops
- ESL and citizenship classes
- Bilingual story times
- ESL conversation clubs
- Computer instruction in various languages
- Informational programs in various languages
- Cultural programs in various languages
Each Center also offers a collection that includes books, videos, DVDs, cassette tapes, and multimedia kits that cover a variety of subjects including ESL, Citizenship, GED and CAHSEE, Basic Life Skills, Grammar/Writing, and Literacy Development. Please Note: Materials in the Family Learning Centers cannot be requested through the Library Catalog. In addition, Family Learning Centers have computers with software for ESL, typing, and language acquisition.
